Yes, its had plenty of ups and downs, the support of benefactors and demise of detractors. With all the trends that flew by, the principle elements that emerged it from being the "sound of few" to a "sound of the many" kept its structure intact. Techno Music displayed adversity, perhaps some stubbornness at times when most of its foundation gave way to the blinding lights of the entertainment business and the empowerment of Technology. For all these years, the low voltage lamp that lights the path forward maintains its faint, but steady glow".
Confucius, the Chinese Prophet once said "Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it".
Many would dispute the fact that Techno had/has no substantial purpose - that it still remains a audio backdrop for having a good time. An artful excuse to congregate with like-minded people, led by notion that through a "togetherness", everybody is well served and nothing more should or could be sought out. Some claim that Techno Music never had the necessary components needed to be considered anything else other than organized static and is expendable. Something similar to a shrink wrap to life.
I am far from being convinced of this view. In fact, I believe that Music, as suggestive as it might seem, becomes one of the few mediums of education adults have longer after we complete our general education and serves people long into their older lives. After 30 or so years of watching you all as a DJ and Producer, I can confirm that certain messages and insinuations in earlier works of Electronic Music have been transcended and handed down through the generations to one another. Something of a audio scrape book that retrieves memories. Does the "Strings Of Life" of today become the "Hey Jude" of tomorrow?. Music not only indicates to us what's happening in terms of human feelings, but also it shows what and who we're ready to leave behind.
Looking forward, Music (Techno) seems to be as wide open as it ever was. No one can solidly confirm its intention, purpose or direction.... The truth is that we can only be witnesses to something that has taken its own form, its own nature. As we all sit here at the beginning of a new decade (2011), I can't help but to think about how many more possibilities, more chances we have to communicate to each other. Many more ideas we're going to explore -- one way or the other!.
Aquí estamos todos sentados en el comienzo de un nuevo año (1 / 2011), no puedo dejar de pensar en cómo ... la música techno llegó a donde está.
Si, ha habido un montón de altibajos, con el apoyo de los benefactores y la desaparición de los detractores.
Con todas las tendencias que pasaron volando, los principales elementos que emergieron desde ser el "sonido de unos pocos" a un "sonido de muchos" mantienen su estructura intacta.
La música techno mostró adversidad, probablemente algo de terquedad en los momentos en que la mayor parte de su fundamento dio paso a las luces cegadoras de la industria del entretenimiento y la potenciación de la tecnología. Durante todos estos años, la lámpara de bajo voltaje que ilumina el camino hacia el futuro mantiene su débil, pero constante resplandor.
Confucio, el profeta chino dijo una vez: "Todo tiene belleza, pero no todo el mundo la ve".
Muchos cuestionarían el hecho de que el Techno no tiene un propósito importante - que todavía sigue siendo un escenario de audio para pasar un buen rato. Una excusa ingeniosa para congregarse con personas de ideas afines- dirigidos por el concepto de que a través de una "unión", todo el mundo esté bien servido y nada más debería o podría ser buscado.
Algunos afirman que nunca ha habido en la música techno los componentes necesarios para ser considerada otra cosa que no sea estática, organizada y es prescindible. Algo parecido a un envoltorio para la vida.
Estoy lejos de estar convencido de esta visión. De hecho, creo que la música, tan sugerente como pueda parecer, se convierte en uno de los pocos medios de educación que los adultos tienen, tiempo después de completar la educación general, y sirve a las personas a largo de sus vidas.
Después de 30 y pico años de ver a todos como DJ y productor, puedo confirmar que ciertos mensajes e insinuaciones en las obras anteriores de la música electrónica han trascendido y se transmitirán a través de las generaciones.
Algo como un audio libro que recupera recuerdos. ¿Se convertirá el "Strings Of Life" de hoy en el "Hey Jude" de mañana?.
La música no sólo nos indica lo que está pasando en términos de los sentimientos humanos, sino que también muestra qué y quién estamos dispuestos a dejar atrás.
De cara al futuro, el techno parece ser tan ampliamente abierto como siempre fue. Nadie sólidamente puede confirmar su intención, propósito o dirección .... La verdad es que sólo podemos ser testigos de algo que ha tomado su propia forma, su propia naturaleza.
Aqui sentados, en el comienzo de una nueva década (2011), no puedo dejar de pensar cuantas posibilidades más, cuantas oportunidades más, de comunicarnos con cada uno de los demás... Muchas más ideas que vamos a explorar - de un modo u otro!.
